Making Christ known in the local community
 
Please give thanks for

• Good relationships with local schools and local businesses
• Good relationships with local care homes/warden assisted residences
• Our church's lead in the town's Remembrance Sunday

 
Please pray for

• For safety and calm at 12pm Saturday 24th October at the clock tower and surrounding area where various protests are taking place
• The monthly Teatime service at St Andrews which aims to draw people from Studd Hill and Hampton that they would notice the publicity and come along and discover Jesus for themselves
• That the board game afternoon, held at St Andrews once a month, would attract new people and that good relationships would form
• Safety as Denise and small groups prayer walk the parish and that there may be positive encounters as we leaflet drop in early December
• Food larder and South Room as they offer physical, financial, emotional and spiritual support to those facing hardship
• That the church family are known for their love, joy and gentleness and also their prayerfulness and unity and that this would be a witness to family and friends and the local community

 
Making and growing disciples
 
Please give thanks for

• The wonderful number of Gospel focused co-workers in the church who enable so many ministries to run effectively on a Sunday and throughout the week
• 2 church buildings at either end of town which give us the opportunity to run various social and faith-based events
• Numerical and spiritual growth across the whole age range

 
Please pray for

• The church as it grows in numbers and that any changes are managed with sensitivity and wisdom.
• Anthony, as finishing touches are made for the mid-week teaching event at Ashburnham.
• Simon, as he plans and leads the new worshipping service and space for 16–30-year-olds called Chapel to start in mid-November
• Home groups, that they would be safe places of friendship, learning, care and support
• The men's and women's ministries would be effective places of discipleship

 Please pray for anything else that the Lord lays on your heart.

Specific prayer points Church Army Africa

• Give thanks that Danson, General Secretary of Church Army Africa, had a successful visit to the UK, visiting us and other funding partners in July.
• Give thanks that the money sent from CCSA has enabled CAA to repair the pump for the water bore hole. Water is now flowing throughout the campus.
• Pray for funding to add a battery storage system to the solar panels to give power when the electricity supply is cut off
• Pray for resilience of CAA organisation with the challenging and uncertain economic outlook as it seeks to advance the gospel in areas of greatest need.

 
Specific prayer points Open Doors

• Give thanks that Open Doors supports persecuted Christians in over 70 countries worldwide through donations and prayer support.
• Pray that Open Doors have partners in all the countries they support so accurate information can get out so they get the vital aid they need eg Bibles, trauma counselling, relief aid etc
• Pray for those who risk their lives smuggling Bibles into countries whose authorities are so against Jesus.
• Pray today for young people in Saudi Arabia who become believers and will face hostility from their families. Ask the Lord to strengthen and embolden His children to be salt and light before their parents and siblings.

 
Specific prayer points The Bible Society

• Please pray for the work of The Bible Society around the world as through translation and engagement they make the Bible accessible in people's heart languages.
• Pray for the many volunteers sent into primary schools to share Bible stories (Open the Book) with a generation entirely unfamiliar to them in a way that is fun, interactive and memorable.
• Thank God for the Bible Society's Tyndale Unity Event this month which marked 500 years since the publication of the New Testament in 1526. The celebration reflected on the role of the Bible in Christian mission, discipleship and conflict resolution.
• Thank Him for the Easy English Bible which makes it easier to read and understand, particularly for second language speakers and those with learning difficulties-also for the Dyslexia Friendly Good News Bible
