All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation

New Beginnings

Please give thanks for

  • the people who were baptised last Sunday and those who will be baptised in the next three weeks.
  • the opportunities that God has given us as individuals and the church to grow in our faith however long we have been a Christian.
  • the number of people who are now connected with our Bay Ignite and Sunday congregations.

Please pray for
  • the restart of the schools’ ministry with assemblies and services over the next few months especially praying that the relationships between the schools and the church continue to be good.
  • the homegroups to be places where people grow in their faith, praying especially for several groups which are restarting after the summer, some with new members and new meeting arrangements.
  • the homegroup leaders as they prepare the studies and care for their group and are committed to continuing in this ministry.
  • the raising up of new leaders and volunteers for various of our ministries.
  • those who are not in homegroups, that they would be properly cared for and if it is right to join a homegroup in due time.
  • the new Bay Ignite teaching rota to enable all who attend, whatever their age, to come to faith or grow in faith.
  • the new preaching series in Philippians on Sunday mornings to be helpful and to allow people to both find faith and grow in faith.
  • those new to our church family to settle in and to find the places in our church family where they can grow in faith and serve in our church family.
  • the need to think about how to best disciple those aged 16-30.
  • the new Retreat Art Day on September 5th praying especially for Denise Critchell as she leads it.
  • the Vision Day on September 12th to attract many from our church family and help us all to feel part of God’s work in and through our church family.
  • the youth group as it restarts in early September especially praying the young people return after the summer break.
  • the baby and toddler group as it reopens in early September especially for the leaders and for new and returning families.

Please pray for anything else that the Lord lays on your heart.

  • the way the holiday club impacted lives and the many answered prayers we saw during the three days.
  • the team that served during the holiday club in so many ways.
  • the prayer that surrounds all the ministries that we are involved in and will be involved in.

Please pray for
  • wisdom and discernment so we can be open to anything that the Lord would have us start or adapt.
  • The ladies and men’s ministries to be places of blessing & encouragement.
  • the planned autumn Christianity Explained Group that it would attract the people who God is calling to attend it.
  • the Sunday at Seven services with a mix of different types of services and the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of ministry and leadership.
  • the Thursday Bay Ignite congregation to attract new people so that others hear the gospel and all are encouraged.
  • the Tuesday Bay Ignite congregation as we have new people and will need to continue to look at the best way to meet the needs of all ages.
  • the Teatime service at St Andrews especially praying for more non-church people to attend and for Denise as she leads the team.
  • the midweek and Sunday services to be attended by those who yet to put their trust in Jesus and that in attending they might come to trust in and follow the Lord Jesus.
  • the Food Larder to reach the people who have the greatest need for emergency food provision and to share the love of Jesus.
  • the South Room Hub to be a place of help to those who come and a place where people experience and recognise the love of Jesus.
  • the care home and supported living ministry this autumn to be a place where those who are contacted where they live engage with Jesus.
  • prayer to continue to be what undergirds everything we do especially for the Tuesday prayer times and the monthly prayer gatherings.
  • The PCC as it continues to make decisions on safeguarding, finance and buildings and shares its wisdom on many ministry issues.

Please pray for anything else that the Lord lays on your heart.
