Staff and Leadership

Please find below an introduction to our church leaders and staff members.
Anthony-STAFF   Hazel-STAFF
Anthony Everett - Vicar   Hazel Coasby - Parish Administrator 

Anthony has been vicar at Christ Church St Andrews since 2002, previously serving in churches in London and Hailsham.  He trained at Oak Hill Theological college and delights in seeing people come to and grow in faith.  He loves explaining God’s Word in as many contexts as possible.  

Anthony is married to Anne (who has always been active in church life) and they have three grown up children and four lively grandchildren.  In his spare time Anthony watches sport, enjoys French holidays and spends time with the family.
Hazel has lived in Herne Bay for 20 years and has worked in various administrative roles. She has been working at the Parish Office for the last 8 years and is the first point of contact for most enquiries to the church.  She enjoys time with her 2 daughters, several pets and family in the Bay.
Denise-STAFF   Karen-STAFF
Denise Parrett,  Assistant Minister - Music   Karen Kendall - Assistant Minister - Pastoral Care

As ‘Staff member with responsibility for music’ since 2017, she has had the  pleasure and privilege of helping lead worship in our Parish.

Having been a member of Christ Church St Andrews since 1998 and authorised in 2018 as an Authorised Lay Minister –Worship leader,  Denise has always been passionate about music and how it can enhance worship and unite the church family in praising God.   
She is married to Stephen who is an associate minister at a neighbouring Anglican church and  their 2 sons are now young adults. When not at church, she teaches at a local primary school part-time or can be found playing tennis.  
Karen has been a member of Christ Church St Andrews since 1999 and has played an active role in Junior Church and Youth Groups. For the past twelve years she have been a Home Group Leader. 

Karen previously worked in mental health nursing; the last 20 years of her career in the community included the provision of counselling in GP practices.

She joined the staff team in 2014 and  leads the pastoral care team.  She feels privileged to have regular contact with people who are not able to get to church for various reasons and those who want to talk more deeply about some of the challenges in life.

Karen enjoy TV Dramas, spending time with her grandson, and anything to do with craft.  She is married and has a grown up son and daughter who are both married.

Dan Ralph - Bay Ignite Leader   Mary Wass -  Pastoral Care Support Worker

Dan has worked at Christ Church St Andrews since October 2018. He helps lead Bay Ignite alongside Paula. He is passionate about serving God and seeing the Kingdom grow.
Dan married Nat in 2010 and they have two cheeky and cheerful boys called Jonah and Ezra. When not doing church or family stuff, Dan loves watching movies and sports.


Mary grew up locally and returned in the 90’s with her family worshipping at Christ Church St Andrews, getting involved in different areas of ministry – youth, Saturday café and South Room community hub. 

Work life involved healthcare and education- and now by God’s grace this role in pastoral support. 

Mary finds It is a privilege to share joys. sorrows, questions and God’s glory as she meets members of our Christian family.

For Mary, nothing beats a coffee catch up (preferably with cake), keeping an eye on Strictly Come Dancing, a tortoise jog at parkrun or a beautiful Herne Bay Sunset. 
Paula Martin - Bay Ignite Leader    

Paula was brought up in Dunkirk.  After working as a Pharmacist in Leicester she pursued God's call to work for Him overseas. She trained at Moorlands Bible College and subsequently served in Muslim Asia for about 18 years as a Pharmacist in Christian Medical Institutions.

Her greatest passion is to share faith and life with local people, wherever in the world she is, seeing lives changed by faith in Jesus.  

She has worked half-time at Christchurch St Andrews for a year in the midweek congregations. She is enjoying being nearer her brother and helping care for her Mum.
