What We Believe

Christ Church and St Andrews are churches that take their commitment to the people of Herne Bay and surrounding areas seriously.  We recognise that each church has its own flavour and so we have a vision statement which we hope will help you understand something about our priorities and outlook.

Our vision is to:

Glorify God by building a Christ centred community through the power of the Holy Spirit.  We do this by making and growing followers of Jesus.

Motto 2026

Each year we chose a verse for the church family to have as a verse that lives with us throughout the year. Each year we have chosen one which we hope will be relevant to our current situation. This year’s verse is

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.“
Proverbs 3:5-6

We have chosen this verse for two specific reasons.

Firstly, we want to be a church family that puts our trust in the right place. People have trust issues, often for very good reasons, but individually and as a church family we know and have experienced that the Lord is trustworthy. How do we show that we trust the Lord? We look to Him for wisdom and for the best way to live our lives. We do not think we know better than Him and so in 2026 we want to commit ourselves to submit to Him which means that we want to do what He would have us do.

Secondly, 2025 has been another great year for us as church family. God has been incredibly good to us, and we have seen Him do amazing things growing our church family numerically and spiritually. He has in so many ways made our paths straight so that even when the path hasn't necessarily been a smooth or easy one God's presence has helped us persevere through hardships with endurance and trust. Whether life is hard or easy or more likely a mixture of the two we trust that God will indeed continue to make our paths straight in 2026.
