Other Social Events
Throughout the year we also run various social activities which are open to church members and guests alike. In past years and planned for the future are speaker evenings, quizzes, cinema nights and pool parties at Herons Swimming Pool followed by a fish and chip supper. Three times a year we take over various local restaurants for a night and share a meal together. Coming up to Christmas we have a social event, in the past these have included dinner and dances, murder mystery evenings and this year we are planning a Barn Dance with live music.
We will publish details of these in the weekly Church Family News and on our Calendar. We would be delighted to see you at any of these.
We also undertake a number of activities to support our community, these include:-
South Room Community Hub
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11.00am - 2.00pm at the South Room building on the right of Christ Church in William Street.
The team are available to offer support to those who would like help applying for jobs or benefits. There is a café, computer area for job searches and an opportunity to be signposted to help available in our local area.
Tuesday 12.30pm - 2.00pm at the Salvation Army, Richmond Street, Herne Bay
The food bank offers the provision of emergency food supplies, the first visit can be made without a signed voucher but subsequent visits will require one and they can provide information on where to obtain these. A café runs at the same time. We support this by project with food items left in one of the yellow bins found in both of our churches.
Friday evenings from 7.00pm
With other local churches, we serve the community with trained Street Pastors and Prayer Pastors supporting people in a time of need within our town.
Take a look at our Get Involved page If you want to learn more about serving in the church and see the current vacancies.
