Women's Ministry
Time set aside for women to encourage and be encouraged.
At Christ Church St Andrew’s we want to encourage women to live for Jesus in every area of their lives: whether that’s at home, at work, with family and friends or as part of the church family. We want our women to grow in this both at our services, as we hear God’s word and spend time as a church family, and throughout the week. We encourage everyone in our church family to:
-
prioritise meeting as a church family at one of our Sunday or midweek services;
-
be a faithful member of a weekly or fortnightly Home Group where we can encourage and support one another;
-
and use the gifts that God has given us to serve our church family and those around us.
Aside from these, there are other things we encourage women to get involved with to help them to grow as Christians:
Women’s Breakfasts
We run a number of breakfasts during the year at our St Andrew’s venue, around 40-50 women currently gather for a time of food and fellowship in a safe, supportive environment. We serve plenty of tea and coffee on arrival, the food varies from a cooked breakfast one month to continental-style another month. Sign-up lists are in church a few weeks before in order to cater for dietary needs.
Apart from great food and time for building friendships, the morning is likely to include a short talk, testimony, teaching, prayer or an activity which is led by a member of the church family or, on some occasions, a visiting speaker in order to encourage women to grow in their faith.
Donations towards the cost of breakfast are welcome. £3 covers this with any extra money given to support the Food Larder ministry or other areas of outreach the church is currently supporting.

Women’s Events
We want to help the women in our church family to speak to their friends and family about Jesus. We occasionally run extra events that women can invite their friends to so that they can hear about Jesus in a fun and relaxed environment. In previous years we have enjoyed craft evenings, BBQs, cream teas in gardens around the parish, watched ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on TV whilst eating pizza, a singing event and Tenpin Bowling.
